Imagine my annoyance/irritation when my beloved Inhi logon ne from Pakeezah (1972) was remixed into a r'n'b/hip hop version, such songs should not be touched please!!!
Unfortunately or should i say fortunately the user won't let me embed it here, so go over if you dare to see it over here on youtube, and as they've rightly confessed themselves "disgraceful is what they are"

It's unfortunate that these classics are being tampered with unnecessarily. It's another thing if they do justice to it as a true tribute ala Parineeta of Vidhu Vinod Chopra
This is so absolutely horrible. I saw the first 11 seconds of it (yes, that's all I could bear) and then I closed the browser window. Eek.
@ Arjun i agree, i loved Parineeta it respected the original
@ dusted off Lol good job you did that, the Inhi inhi bit that was on loop at the beginning was in my head for days, at least the same won't happen to you
Tht remix guy is my 'dushman' from now on. Grr.. How he dared? Pakeeza is my childhood treasure.
I know right, how dare he, of all songs to remix. Sadly there seems to be a market for such remixes
Not that I'm advocating the destruction of classical masterpieces, but maybe their intention is to make it more accessible to the younger generation? I almost think that if it awakens a renewed interest in the classics, how can it be that bad. However, saying that, I've yet to listen to the remixed version.
@ Shell great point about wanting to introduce it to a new audience, but it was just the way it was done, very tasteless and unbefitting for such a classic song + i'm pretty sure the new generation know of it already, as its quite a popular song that rendering it as a remix sounds like a joke
WTF!!kamal amrohi n meena kumari wud be crying in their graves if they were 2 knw how disgustingly has a masterpiece been turned 2 into an item number :(..wonder how come d music fraternity hasnt raised a hue or cry abt it!!

The Bard Lol at that clip, that was the look they were going for i guess this comment posted on the video page says it all
They took more then just her dupatta... They took her pants.. her shirt... I don't like the voice... very bad
And i'm sure they must have paid some money in order for them to do a remix
